This Privacy Policy explains how SmartAccounts ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our accounting and customer relationship management platform available at smartaccounts.in (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, password (stored hashed), business name, GSTIN, business address, mobile number, and other details you provide during signup.
The Service allows you to record and manage business data including invoices, customer details, vendor details, bank account information, GST records, payment records, expense records, employee records, and other accounting data. This data is owned by you and stored securely.
If you connect external services (such as Facebook/Instagram Lead Ads, WhatsApp Business, WooCommerce, Shopify, Razorpay, payment gateways), we receive and store information from those services as authorised by you. This may include:
We automatically collect technical information when you use the Service, including IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, features used, and timestamps. This is used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
We use cookies and local storage to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and improve user experience. We do not use cookies for advertising or third-party tracking.
SmartAccounts lets you connect your Google account for two optional features. We request only the access each feature needs, and only after you click Connect and approve it on Google's own screen.
How we use and share Google user data. Google user data is used only to provide these features to you inside SmartAccounts. We do not sell it, do not use it for advertising, do not use it to build user profiles, and do not use it to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. We do not transfer it to anyone, except as needed to provide the feature you asked for, to comply with law, or as part of a business transfer described in section 3.4. Our staff do not read your Google data, except with your permission (for example, when you ask for support), when needed for security or to investigate abuse, or to comply with law.
Storage, retention and deletion. Google access tokens and the emails saved in your CRM are stored on our servers with the rest of your account data and protected as described in section 5. You can disconnect Google Drive or Gmail at any time in SmartAccounts, or remove SmartAccounts' access at myaccount.google.com/permissions; after that we no longer access your Google account. Files already saved in your Drive stay in your Drive, under your control. Emails already saved in your CRM stay until you delete them or your account (section 4), or you ask us at pandeyashwin97@gmail.com to delete them.

SmartAccounts primarily stores data on servers located in India. If we transfer data outside India (for example, to a third-party integration like Meta), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place. By using the Service and integrations, you consent to such transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email and/or an in-app notice at least 7 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
