This page explains how to request deletion of your personal data from SmartAccounts. We respect your right to control your data and provide multiple ways to delete it, in compliance with Meta Platform Policy, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (India), and other applicable laws.
What Data We Hold About You
If you have an account with SmartAccounts, we may hold:
- Account profile (name, email, mobile, password hash, business details)
- Business records you've entered (invoices, customers, vendors, transactions, GST data)
- Third-party integration tokens and data (Facebook Page connections, Lead Ad data, WhatsApp messages, e-commerce orders, etc.)
- Usage logs and audit history
How to Delete Your Data
You have three options, each with different scope and timing.
1 Self-Service Account Deletion (Fastest)
If you have an active SmartAccounts account:
- Log in at app.smartaccounts.in
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Confirm deletion by entering your password
- You'll receive a confirmation email
Your account will be soft-deleted immediately (no further access) and permanently deleted from our active systems within 30 days.
2 Disconnect Specific Integrations
If you only want to remove data from a specific connected service (e.g., disconnect Facebook without deleting your full account):
- Log in to SmartAccounts
- Go to Integrations Hub (or Leads & Pipeline → Lead Sources)
- Find the integration you want to remove (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.)
- Click Disconnect or Remove
This deletes the access tokens, connection records, and ongoing data flow from that integration. Historical lead/order data already imported will remain unless you delete it separately or delete your full account.
3 Email Request (Manual)
If you cannot access your account, or you want a complete data deletion request handled manually:
- Send an email to pandeyashwin97@gmail.com
- Subject line:
Data Deletion Request
- Include in the email:
- Your registered email address with SmartAccounts
- Your registered business name and/or mobile number
- A clear statement: "I request deletion of all my personal data from SmartAccounts"
- Confirmation that you understand this is irreversible
We will verify your identity (typically by replying to your registered email) and process the deletion within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation when complete.
What Happens After Deletion
When your data is deleted:
- Your account is deactivated immediately and you lose access
- Personal data (name, email, mobile, profile) is permanently removed from active databases within 30 days
- Business records (invoices, customers, transactions) are deleted unless legally required to be retained (see below)
- Third-party integration tokens are revoked
- Backups containing your data are purged within 90 days of deletion
Data We Are Required to Retain
Indian law (Income Tax Act, GST Act) requires us to retain certain financial records for up to
8 years. This applies to:
- Invoices issued by you through SmartAccounts (where SmartAccounts is the platform but you are the issuer)
- Payment transaction records (Razorpay, etc.)
- Audit logs related to financial transactions
These records will be anonymised (your personal details removed) but the transactional data may persist in aggregated/anonymised form.
Specific Instructions for Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Data
If you used SmartAccounts to connect Facebook or Instagram Lead Ads and want to specifically remove that data:
- From SmartAccounts side:
- Log in to SmartAccounts
- Go to Integrations Hub → Facebook (or Instagram)
- Click Disconnect
- This revokes our access token and stops further data flow
- From Facebook side (recommended for complete removal):
To request deletion of historical lead data previously imported into SmartAccounts, use option 1, 2, or 3 above with a note that you specifically want Meta-sourced data removed.
Response Times
We commit to the following timelines:
- Acknowledgement of your request: within 2 business days
- Identity verification (if needed): within 7 days
- Completion of deletion: within 30 days
- Backup purge: within 90 days

If you are not satisfied with how we handled your deletion request, you may escalate to our Grievance Officer:
